Thank You for Following!
Instagram has become a tool like no other for many disciplines and industries. The reach is unbelievable, without exaggeration we are all able to connect to almost all people from around the world and access places, things, and information like no other time before. In the 2000s blogging was the way I reached a broad audience for my work. I used to keep in touch with a few international people through comments of my posts. In 2006 I had a very small group who followed my journey as an artist here, but then Instagram came in to the picture. Since joining the platform in 2013 my account has grown exponentially, my work can be seen in places I never thought it could. I constantly receive messages and comments from people who follow my account and look forward to seeing what I'm up to artistically. But things start to feel different and overwhelming when people begin to use you as inspiration. This year I have become aware that my work is having a positive impact on people from around the world, and all I can say is that I am very touched and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This post is dedicated to the artists who are looking at my work closely and are taking the time to either copy or use my drawings as a starting point. I get many messages asking me to tell them how to draw like me. You are asking for over 30 years of experience and hard work to be boiled down to a couple of lines. It doesn't work that way. You have to put in the work and just DO, and that's what these people are doing. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing your growth.
