Portfolio Review

I had to spend some time tonight getting ready for a portfolio review on Saturday at the New York Academy of Art. I will be attending an open house and portfolio review for the grad program there. I have visited the school before and liked everything about it. The location is perfect and if I do get in and attend I won't have to leave New York. That's a plus! I'm planning on getting my masters starting the fall of 2009, I'm a little too late to apply for 2008. Besides I'm not ready for it this year. I hope they like what I have to show them, which is 10 still life oil paintings and 5 figure drawings. If I get an A on this review it means that I get some kind of scholarship. Cross your fingers for me!

i am definitely crossing my fingers for you!...even though it makes it very difficult to type this way!! :) all of my best wishes for your review today - if they don't take you, i'll come & kick them all in the nuts. seriously, if i ran a school i'd accept you & your talent in an instant! (not that i know what i'm talking about, i know, so it's not quite as much of a compliment, but still...)

MISS YOU!!! i'll be in NYC late this month; i'll let you know dates when i'm better informed. prolly March 20th-ish?

I'm cheering for you. The paintings you have chosen for your portfolio review are beautiful, and show your diversity and skill. When will you know if you get the scholarship? Hope you don't have to wait too long!

Thank you Joanne, not sure when I find out about the scholarship. For me to be able to get it they have to grade my portfolio and it needs to be an "A". I hope they like what they see.

You may be at your portfolio review as I write, and I wish you the very best review ever! I have taken great classes at NYAA. If they are as smart as I think they are they will give you the scholarship before your leave the building!

Hi Robin, I just got back from the review! Yes they are very smart, reason why they are very carefull in who they choose for their school and their award. Review went well, got a lot of good pointers and I'm ready to start working on new and better paintings for next year. I will submint my portfolio and application for the fall of 2009.
I wish you all the best success in your application for Fall '09. I'm sure the lessons from today's review will be valuable toward your goal.
