Work in Progress

I thought I give you all a sneak peak at what I'm working on. I started this painting about a week and a half ago and I'm enjoying it. I'm trying out a different format and am happy with the change. I think I'll try to do more of these horizontal images. Lighting is bad in this one, much of the some what loose brush work has been lost because of the lack of good light. But I promise to get the right light for the finished product.

I think you are heading towards that "comtenporary" thing you were talking about.

Hey Luis,

How about the light? Are you lighting the subject with natural light? halogen?

Looks great so far.

No, I wish I could use natural light but not enough of it comes throuh my windows since we have other buildings surrounding us. I usually paint at night (after my full time job) and have to light up my still lifes with a desk lamp. I tend to arrange my still lives, set the light and take pictures. My two cats make a playground out of my set ups. I don't mind working from pics. Most of the finished product is what I make up as I go along.
